Color difference and thickness measurement device for car body paint

Overview

Visible and infrared hybrid and multi-component meters can be used to measure the color difference and thickness of car body paint.

Conventional devices were thickness gauges that only used infrared absorption, so correlation was poor in the range below 20 μm.

By using visible and infrared absorption, it is possible to measure color difference and the thickness of thin film regions with good correlation.

Features

  • Continuous thickness measurement improves quality and reduces material costs
  • Continuous color difference measurement enables paint adjustment time to be reduced
  • Measurement wavelength range: Visible +1.3 to 2.5 μm
