The IR-R41 is a flat blackbody furnace that achieves high emissivity in the long-wavelength infrared band and was development jointly with the National Institute of development Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).
It can be used to scale radiation thermometer.
The blackbody furnace for low temperature calibration emissivity is difficult to approach 1, but achieves 0.995.
This minimizes the effect of external radiation and provides a more accurate temperature indication.
